Sport
At Homefield the boys are taught by specialist sport teachers right from their time in Reception, all the way through to Year 8.
We have a strong tradition of encouraging sport for all, combined with regional and team successes. Competitive fixtures in the four main sports of Football, Rugby, Hockey and Cricket are held regularly. Pupils are encouraged to have a go at everything and to be ambitious for themselves.
Whether a boy plays at A team or a C Team level, they can all participate with enthusiasm and enjoy competitive sport. The school has a proud record of success in areas such as Rugby, Cricket, Squash and Karate. We are previous winners of the U-13 1st XV National Preparatory School champions and have reached 1st XI soccer Surrey Preparatory Schools Championship.
The Sport curriculum aims to:
- create a stimulating, disciplined and supportive environment where boys are happy and motivated to learn
- promote physical activity, physical development and a healthy lifestyle
- develop positive attitudes to physical endeavour including perseverance, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship and the ability to cope with success and failure
- provide a range of opportunities for the boys to maximise their potential and enjoy sport on every level from recreation to excellence
- promote and develop an understanding of safe practice in physical activities
