Art

We have invested in a leading edge Art and Design studio as well as quality teaching from a highly specialised and qualified Art Department. Even our younger boys get to use the Studio to experience a wide variety of medium and expression.

There is an emphasis on skills centred around technical drawing techniques. This investment means that many of our boys are enabled to develop a strong portfolio when they leave us, many taking up scholarships as a result. In technology, the boys learn how to plan, design, make and evaluate products using specialised equipment. Numerous awards are won by Homefield boys each year. The boys' work is celebrated in displays around the school and in the local community.

The artist Graham Sutherland was one of our Old Boys and the Art and Design studio is situated in a modern and airy building bearing his name. We have a strong sense of success in this subject and we continue to build on this tradition year on year.
